Dear Steve,

I am writing to express my sincere thanks and great surprise at the arrival of what seemed to us a mini delivery from Hamley’s last Thursday.

 

It really did seem like Christmas with so many toys and children’s furniture amassed in our school hall - my Early Years staff were beside themselves with glee!

 

We have already distributed the toys and the blue furniture to the various Key Stage One classes but have decided to store the wooden equipment you provided until we have refurbished our Nursery play space during the Summer Holiday.

 

I understand from Danny that a new client of yours donated all of these items. I wonder if you could pass on to them how much we appreciate their generosity and kindness? Many of our children come from deprived backgrounds and some have little or no play equipment at home. Therefore, this donation is very welcome indeed.

 

The Nursery that you created over seven years ago is still functioning very well and is much admired by prospective parents and visiting teachers. We are the envy of North Westminster! I said earlier, we have plans for the Nursery play area, which is proving to be very cold for most of the year. These include enclosing the playground side with a conservatory type structure.

 

I have asked Neville Brown to contact you when we have raised sufficient funds to carry out this work, as we would like you to be officially involved with the school again.

I was just one of many who enjoyed the voyeuristic trip around Chrissie and Carey’s is fabulous new home last Thursday evening.

 

It has been my pleasure to work on the periphery of many of Julian’s jobs, normally dealing with neighbourly matters but on this occasion, the funding institution. Indeed I can remember Metro Studio when it was no more than a large cavernous space.

 

I can only admire the work of good architects and designers, as I lack their talent. However I tend to approach all buildings with a critical eye of a building surveyor looking for faults and in new build work these are normally numerous.

 

The real point of this letter is to congratulate you and your team, on producing the perfect article! Almost 30 years as a chartered surveyor I have only seen finishes that approach perfection on possibly one other occasion and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
